New Walls, Repairs and Smooth Ceilings
Drywall is the surface everyone looks at, and the flaws show as soon as the light hits the wall. We do new drywall for renovations and basements, and repairs of every size, from a single hole to a water-damaged ceiling. Framing and painting are in-house too, so a drywall job does not stall waiting for another trade.
New drywall
Drywall hung, taped and finished on walls and ceilings, for basements, new walls and full renovations.
Taping and finishing
Taping, mudding and sanding on drywall that is already hung, finished smooth and ready for paint.
Skim coating
A thin coat of compound over the whole surface to smooth out rough, patched or textured walls and ceilings.
Popcorn ceiling removal
Scraping off the popcorn texture, then skim coating and painting so you are left with a smooth, flat ceiling.
Repairs
Small holes and cracks, large patches, and sections cut out and replaced after water damage.
Framing
New interior walls and the framing around openings, so the drywall has something straight and solid to go on.
If you are dealing with water damage, fix the source of the leak first. Once the area is dry, we cut out the damaged drywall, replace it, finish it and paint it so the repair does not show.
How It Works
How a Drywall Job Runs, Step by Step
Drywall compound needs time to dry between coats, so we plan the visits around it. The owner personally oversees every job.

You call or send the form
Tell us what needs doing and send a photo if you have one. We answer Monday to Saturday, 8am to 10pm, and respond to inquiries within 4 hours on average.

Site visit
We measure the area, look at what is behind a damaged section where we can, and check whether the ceiling or walls need a skim coat or a full replacement.

Free written quote
You get a written quote that spells out the scope. Our contracts are fair to both sides.

Protect and prep
We cover floors and furniture and close off the work area, because sanding drywall makes fine dust.

Hang, tape and finish
We hang or replace the board, then tape, apply compound and sand in stages, letting each coat dry before the next one goes on.

Paint, walkthrough and warranty
We prime and paint if you want the job finished, then walk through with you. Every job comes with our written workmanship warranty.

Drywall Questions
How much does drywall work cost?
Before HST, new drywall hung, taped and finished typically runs $2.00 to $4.50 per sq ft of wall or ceiling, taping and finishing only $1.00 to $3.00, skim coating $1.50 to $4.00 and popcorn ceiling removal $3.50 to $6.00 per sq ft. Repairs run about $200 to $400 per area for small holes and cracks, and about $400 to $800 or more for large patches and water-damaged sections. Every job gets a free written quote after a site visit, and our minimum charge is $200 per visit.
Why does a small repair take two visits?
Drywall compound has to dry between coats. A small repair usually takes 2 short visits over 1 to 2 days. A full basement, boarded and finished, takes about 1 to 2 weeks.
Can you match the texture of my existing walls?
We blend the repair into the wall around it, and when the surrounding wall is rough or patched, a skim coat over the whole wall gives the most even result. We look at it on the site visit and tell you which approach makes sense.
Do you paint after the drywall is done?
Yes. Painting is in-house, so we can prime and paint the repaired area or the whole room. See our painting page for more.
Can you remove my popcorn ceiling?
Yes. We scrape the texture off, skim coat the ceiling smooth and paint it, all with our own crew.
Can you drywall my whole basement?
Yes. We board and finish full basements, usually as part of a basement finish that also covers framing, insulation, flooring and paint. The drywall on a full basement takes about 1 to 2 weeks. See our basement finishing page for the whole process.
Do you use subcontractors?
No. Every trade is done in-house by our own crew, including the framing and painting that often come with drywall work.
